@harrytheheid please see this topic for a full guide on how the forums work: MSM: How to write a build log?

Please let me know if this clears things up for you?

This is my latest project; Tamiya’s Easy Eight.
I have the Verlinden “Fury” aftermarket detail set on order so I left the spare track links off for the time being and the full crew will be added in due course. I forgot to add the clear plastic lenses for the front lights before I took the photos though….

I’d be grateful for any critique…[Read more]

@harrytheheid Hi Harry! Great to have you here as a member. What are your interests with scale modelling?

    • I’ve mainly been a figure painter up until now Boris, but in the past few weeks I decided to return to scale modelling for the first time since I was a teenager. Focusing on US forces during WW2 and Vietnam at the moment. I want to learn about applying pigments to AFV’s and other vehicles a bit more effectively. I’ve never used them before and r…[Read more]

      • Great to hear your story Harry. do you have any examples of figures you painted?
Seems like a great decision! Scale modelling is so awesome (-:

The example on the pictures do not look that bad! actually it looks quite nice, I like the net over the engine compartment.
Unfortunately there’s not much in the weathering how-to section but one example…[Read more]

        • I should’ve said “figure painter and small diorama/vignette builder”….LOL
The majority of my kit figures are in white metal, although I do have quite a few resin examples now as well.
          Okay, I’m taking a break and a coffee, so here’s some photo’s.

A 75mm Mongolian Horseman from Pegaso — I love 75mm (1/24) as a size for painting. Big enough for…[Read more]

          • makes sense, a small diorama makes the whole picture a lot better, especially with those figures I guess (-:
Are those white metal figures pre-built?

Wow! Reaaaally nice job on that Mongolian Horseman, I love the detail, Great job on that one.
I would be proud to have that in the showcase as well. Your figures w/ vignette would give great…[Read more]

            • The vast majority of white metal figures (and resin examples too) are in the form of kits that you “pin” and assemble using 2-part epoxy or superglue — amnd then you break out the paintbrushes. Most of mine are from the likes of Pegaso, Alexandros Models, Draconia, Romeo, EVD, and so on.
I also have a large collection of pre-assembled and…[Read more]

            • Hmm, must’ve hit the “post” button by mistake — is there any way to edit posts on here?

That is a pre-built 1/32 Huey from Figarti. Also in the photo are a pre-built M48A3 from First Legion and 2 x Tamiya M151A2’s that I did myself, although I was recently advised they should be M151A1’s for Vietnam.
Nevertheless, this is just waiting for an oppo…[Read more]

    • Cool @harrytheheid!
I’m not sure you can edit your post on the activity stream here, I know you can with the forums and all other posts. I will look into it as I plan make a lot of changes to the site soon.

Looks like great material for neat diorama! good luck with that one.
